Riding a motorbike on the Ha Giang Loop (Vietnam): HOLY SMOKES and another drink, please
Scared? Good. That means it’s worth it.
I’m not gonna lie: I was freaking terrified. Like, chest-tightening, can’t-breathe kind of scared.
But I did it anyway.
And damn, I’m so glad I did. I’d do it again a thousand times.
The Ha Giang Loop is no countryside stroll. It’s a 3- or 4-day madness through twisting roads, mountains, mist, lost villages, and jaw-dropping landscapes.
Got a license and want to ride yourself? Go for it, brave soul.
Prefer to let a local do the driving while you just soak it all in? That works too. That’s what I did. And it was the best decision of the trip.
I’ve traveled a lot. I’ve seen places that leave your mouth hanging open. But this… this was another level. There were moments when I thought:
“I’m not on this planet. I’m flying through another world.”
And I’m not exaggerating.
You don’t come here to collect photos. You come here to feel. To peer over cliffs. To realize how tiny your comfort zone really is. To live something you can’t explain—you just do it.
So now you know: if it scares you a little, good.
The Ha Giang Loop isn’t for those who stay comfy.
It’s for the ones who dare.
So… are you getting on, or staying behind?
