The Ha Giang Loop, Vietnam (with an Easy Rider):
If you’re planning a backpacking trip to Vietnam, you can’t miss this video. The Ha Giang Loop was the best thing I did in Vietnam and honestly, one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. But what exactly is the Ha Giang Loop? Let me explain.
Ha Giang is a region located in the north of Vietnam, about 8 or 9 hours from Hanoi. This area features absolutely stunning landscapes, which has made it a very popular destination among tourists. So, how do you explore it? The most common way is to do it by motorbike. You can rent a motorbike to travel around the region, or you can be a passenger on an Easy Rider, a local experienced driver who knows the roads perfectly, allowing you to relax, enjoy the view, and of course, take those perfect photos for Instagram or your next TikTok. 😁
You can book the tour at most hostels in Hanoi or directly at one in Ha Giang. The most popular one is Jasmine Hostel. However, I didn’t choose this one because I wasn’t completely comfortable with the party atmosphere and the focus on large groups. If you’re looking for a big party and a bigger crowd, then Jasmine is the option for you.
I wanted something quieter, with a smaller group and without the vibrant party vibe, so I opted for Hong Hao Hostel, which was highly recommended and I loved it. Plus, I paid about £145 for the tour, which was a great value for everything I experienced.
Why should you do it?
The Ha Giang Loop is one of those experiences that changes you. Imagine crossing imposing mountains, seeing rivers between cliffs, and feeling like you’re the only person in the world. The best part is that you don’t have to worry about driving, just sit back and enjoy the landscape.
If you’re in Vietnam and have a few free days, you absolutely have to do this.
