Exploring Ayutthaya: The Ancient Capital of Thailand 🇹🇭

If you ever find yourself in Bangkok, Ayutthaya is the perfect day trip destination. Forget about expensive tours and do it on your own. It’s easy, affordable, and offers a unique experience! Here’s how our day went:

Cheap train ride: We chose to take the train, and it cost us less than 2 dollars per person! Just a one-hour ride from Bangkok, perfect for avoiding the crowds of organized tours.

Motorcycle rental to explore: Once we arrived, we rented a motorcycle and headed to the six main temples. The experience was amazing, and the temples were breathtaking!

The famous “Buddha in the tree”: One of the most impressive places in Ayutthaya is the famous Buddha head tangled in the roots of a tree. It’s something you have to see in person to truly understand its magic.

Local food: Boat Noodles!: At lunchtime, we couldn’t miss the chance to try the famous boat noodles, a super tasty noodle soup with dark soy sauce and meatballs. What a burst of flavor!

A spicy lunch… way too spicy: After the noodles, we tried another local dish, but it was so spicy we could barely eat it! Those levels of spice are for the brave.

Relaxing with a bottle of Samsung: To end such an intense day, Gus bought me a bottle of Samsung soju for my birthday while we enjoyed live music at a local bar.

Snack night at 7-Eleven: Finally, the cherry on top was ending the day with snacks in bed. There’s nothing better than relaxing with some treats after an adventurous day.
